Hello, I’m Jeff Butterfield, founder of Lumera Recovery Pathways. For more than two decades, I’ve been dedicated to supporting people to achieve meaningful, sustainable recovery from alcohol and other drug challenges.
My professional journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Curtin University, driven by a deep interest in mental health and the complexities of addiction. After working in acute mental health settings, I transitioned into alcohol and other drug treatment, where I found a strong sense of purpose supporting individuals and families navigating some of life’s most difficult moments.
In 2015, I was acknowledged at the Nurse of the Year Awards before moving into community-based treatment, working directly with clients in their homes. I later coordinated an inpatient addiction therapy program prior to establishing Lumera Recovery Pathways.
My approach is grounded in trauma-informed, evidence-based care. I focus on creating personalised treatment pathways that empower individuals and their families, while building trust, clarity, and practical skills for long-term wellbeing.
People experiencing alcohol and other drug challenges are often among the most vulnerable and stigmatised members of our community. I am committed to helping shift this perception and ensuring that every person I work with receives high-quality, compassionate, and respectful care.
To all the clients who have welcomed me into their lives, I acknowledge your courage, honesty, and generosity. Supporting people through some of their most personal and sensitive moments is a profound privilege. Witnessing individuals grow in confidence, resilience, and well-being is one of the most meaningful aspects of my work.
